Blind and visually impaired people have daily problems walking outside, so they help themselves with various aids. One such device today is also a mobile phone, which, if used appropriately, can make walking considerably easier for the blind and visually impaired.
RYZE is developing the mobile application MyVision, which uses a camera and computer vision to check the surroundings a few meters in front of a person in walking direction, it reads obstacles and terrain etc. and informs the user. Computer Vision, in combination with GPS navigation, will enable people to be guided from point A to point B. The product will make it possible to save the places visited and share obstacles on the way with other users.
