Igor Jakomin
He has more than 25 years of experience in supply chains. He is the Deputy CEO of the start-up company CargoX. The company is a revolutionary provider of blockchain solutions for the logistics industry and international trade.
Previously, he has also worked for the company as Business Development Director and later as Chief Operating Officer. During this period, CargoX created and digitally transferred the first ever maritime bill of lading on blockchain technology and developed a blockchain platform for the secure transfer of documents and data, which has won numerous international awards and accolades (the most famous being the win of the 2018 start-up competition of the International Road Union (IRU) in Geneva. IRU is a global industry federation of national member and associate associations in 73 countries on 5 continents, representing the interests of truck, taxi and bus operators worldwide. Today, CargoX manages the ACI (Advance Cargo Information) system for the Government of the Republic of Egypt.
He also gained experience in the start-up world working for SmartCargo, where he spent a year and a half as Head of Strategic Development.
During his career, he has managed branches of the multinational United Parcel Service in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, worked as a senior executive in various companies of the Italian Samer Group, was a member of the supervisory boards of Luka Koper and BTC Terminal Sežana, and has been a consultant in various companies in Slovenia and abroad. Since the beginning of 2018, he has also been working as a consultant and mentor in the successful logistics company Comark.
