Founded in 2010, MESI is a full-time member of the Ljubljana University Incubator and one of the winners of the Rector's Award for Best Innovation at the University of Ljubljana. It is engaged in the development of innovative medical devices. The first project Mesi is launching on the market is a medical device for the automatic measurement of ankle-brachial index (ABPI MD), aimed at the early detection of peripheral arterial disease (PAB) using an oscillometric method.

The benefits of the Automatic ABPI Meter are that it reduces the time of the measurement from current 30 minutes to 1 minute, ease of use as it’s only needed to fit the cuffs on both wrists and ankles and press the start button, as well as making diagnosis less expensive as it may be performed by a medical technician rather than a doctor. The development of ABPI MD by Mesi complies with medical standards, medical legislation and user requirements.
