One of the main problems of the modern glass industry is the provision of a specific glass color due to variations in the parameters of the raw materials and variations in the parameters of the melting furnaces. The color of the glass depends mainly on the so-called oxidation state of the glass, which is currently mostly determined in the laboratory, resulting in delays and large emissions of products. 

Culmium develops SOX -GLASS ( Spectrophotometer for OXidation state of GLASS), the first long-term stable and reliable system for direct measurement of the oxidation state of glass melts during normal production. This will enable manufacturers to replace 5-10% of primary raw materials with waste glass in batches, reducing raw material purchasing costs by 3-6% (80,000-160,000 € per year/furnace) and reducing energy costs by 2-3% (120,000-150,000 € per year/furnace). 

Currently, there is only one competing system on the market, but it works in contact and is not as reliable as SOX -GLASS. SOX -GLASS will be an essential component of the new ecological gas stoves. 

In 2019 the company received the Seal of Excellence Certificate from the European Commission.
