The SPOT portal, Slovenia Business Point (formerly e-VEM), is a key portal for entrepreneurs and business entities and provides business entities with information on business conditions in Slovenia and electronically supported procedures related to starting and establishing a business.
The purpose of the SPOT portal is to offer all information for starting a business in one place and to enable business entities to do business with the public administration as easily and quickly as possible, free of charge.
Through the SPOT portal, one can register as a sole trader (s.p.) or register a limited liability company (d.o.o.), when there is only one partner. If there is already a company, it can via SPOT file a change in PRS (the Slovenian Business Register), submit tax information or request for identification for VAT purposes, arrange compulsory social security for employees, post a job, get a craft license or authorize another person to work with the SPOT system.
The SPOT system that replaced the VEM system combines four levels. In addition to the portal, the second level is SPOT Registration with physical registration points to support business entities. The third level is SPOT Consulting with 12 regional points for professional assistance. The fourth level is SPOT Global, represented by the national SPOT point - Spirit Slovenia. Spirit is a public agency that provides an extensive range of services in the field of internationalization and foreign investment, intended primarily for exporting companies and investors.
