On Friday, Ljubljana’s BTC City was the place for the formal opening of the ABC HUB, one of the biggest Slovenian ecosystems for startups and young companies. The event, hosted by Jože Mermal, BTC company’s chairman of the board, and Dejan Roljič, ABC accelerator’s director, was honoured by the visits of Dr Maja Makoveč Brenčič, Minister for education, science and sports, Karl Erjavec, Minister for foreign affairs, and Zoran Janković, mayor of the Municipality of Ljubljana. The opening of a new modern centre, helping young innovators make a breakthrough with advanced business ideas at home and internationally, was also accompanied by the presentation of national Central European Startup Awards (CESA), given to Slovenian winners in six individual categories.
