30 investors, 5 pitches, a presentation of a young startup that is still at the beginning of its journey and a scaleup company that is already successfully operating in various markets, describe the Demo Day with foreign investors, which was organized at the end of October by the Business Angels of Slovenia in cooperation with the Slovene Enterprise Fund, Advantage Austria Slovenia and the Primorska Technology Park. 

Kookidi: On the hunt for a first investment 

We met Manca Pavlin, who launched her startup, Kookidi, in April this year. The start-up, which is still in its early days, is working on developing programs and special toy packages for children's development. Their products are made from environmentally friendly materials, and they are aiming to be a zero-waste business in the future.
They currently have two business models, one is a purchase model, and the other is a subscription model. In a little over 6 months, the team has managed to build a community of over 2000 people through different channels. They have sold more than 200 packages, have 6 ambassadors and 58 active subscriptions. The target they have set for the end of this year is to sell 300 more packages and reach 150 subscriptions.

Led Luks: Flexibility is their biggest advantage 

Led Luks is a good example of an Italian-Slovenian partnership, as the company was founded in 2013 by Slovenian entrepreneur Matija Klinkon and Italian entrepreneur Dino Feragotto. 

The company, which today employs more than 60 people, is engaged in the manufacturing and production of LED and technical lighting products, mainly for offices and large buildings. The company aims to create environmentally friendly and energy-saving lighting products that will help preserve the harmony between man and nature while at the same time promoting the increasingly relevant values of saving, cleanliness, and modesty in the management of energy.

From the first intuitive electric wheelbarrow to a virtual assistant that solves beauty industry challenges

The highlight of our trip to the Primorska Technology Park was definitely the startup pitches prepared for us by ambitious entrepreneurs. 5 startups from the Slovene Enterprise Fund's portfolio took to the stage:

1. PadelCourt - Incrediscope (Odpornost d.o.o.) The team is developing PadelCourt, a mobile application based on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
2. Karjola (Blockhapp d.o.o.) Blockhapp has developed Karjola, the first intuitive electric wheelbarrow, which solves the problem of manual transport of heavier loads when going uphill or when using manual transport for longer periods of time. 
3. FLUX Primo (Flux Performance d.o.o.) FLUX Primo is the first high-performance electric off-road motorcycle with a removable battery and a wide range of smart features.
4. Process Space (Process Space d.o.o.) Process Space is a digital collection of standardized procedures and guides, creating a space where companies can quickly, easily, and affordably access solutions from international business experts that they cannot otherwise afford.
5. Glossiq (Glossiq d.o.o.) Glossiq connects service providers, cosmetics manufacturers and their customers in one place with one solution.

Startup Plus programs

The Slovene Enterprise Fund also organizes several other top entrepreneurial programs for portfolio companies, such as the Sales Accelerator, Startup Clinic, SK GROWTH, Podim Conference, HardwareSTART, Web 3.0 Accelerator. And many others. These content programs effectively complement the financial products P2, SK75 and SI-SK, which provide Slovenian startups with from EUR 54,000 to EUR 600,000 in funding.
