In collaboration with Netokracija, we have once again managed to attract the Mini Seedcamp event to Ljubljana. It will take place on September 19th 2014. The deadline for application from start-ups that wish to pitch their projects in front of the Seedcamp committee is September 5th!
Applications are already open. Start-ups can choose between two ways to apply:
The application deadline is September 5th 2014! Start-ups pitching at the event will be chosen by Seedcamp.
Pitching in front of the committee
MINI Seedcamp is a half-day event for start-ups from all over Europe, organised by the London-based accelerator Seedcamp with help from local partners. Start-ups pitch their projects in front of the Seedcamp committee. The goal is to find the best European start-ups for Seedcamp to invest in, much like it invested into Slovenian companies Zemanta, Vox.io and Oust.me in the past.
Estimated event timeline
The event consists of a short presentation from Seedcamp’s representatives, and pitches from the participating teams, which get immediate feedback about their company and product. A roundtable will also be organised, shedding light on the local start-up ecosystem. The event is followed by free time during which the participants can network.
Local Slovenian finalists will be invited to the Seedcamp Week taking place in Berlin in November. There, they will spend 3 days in the company of more than 150 investors. At this event, the accelerator will also reveal start-ups into which it wishes to invest.
Remember, the last MINI Seedcamp event in Ljubljana took place in the Crystal palace in July 2011. In 2012, the event was in Zagreb, and in 2013, it was in Rijeka, as part of Netokracija’s summer start-up conference RockPaperStartups.
Who should apply?
Seedcamp is searching for the most ambitious start-up founders who are thinking without limits and whose goal is to break the status quo with their most advanced technologies.
Leading provider of microinvestments in Europe
Seedcamp is one of the largest international providers of seed capital in the world, and the leading one for microinvestments and the mentorship programme in Europe. Its beginnings reach into the year 2007 and today, Seedcamp is connecting almost 90 European start-up companies with the most potential. Winners of MINI Seedcamp will be invited to the Seedcamp Week in Berlin in November, where they will spend 3 days in the company of more than 150 mentors. Seedcamp will then also announce its final decision about the investments.
The fund is supported by an excellent team and a group of investors who annually invest into approximately 20 companies. They offer various opportunities to companies: seed funding, three-monthly rent of offices in Google Campus in London, weekly team meetings, a 4-week long mentorship tour across USA and other services worth approximately 150,000 euros. The investments are in the amounts of 25,000 to 50,000 euros in exchange for a 5- or 8-10 % company share.
